How To Start A Home Business When You’re Stony-Broke!!
I’ve had a number of conversations recently with people who have fallen on hard times. They are stony broke! No money to get started in a Network Marketing company, and even if they did, no money to use for marketing in any shape or form… they are busted!!
No hope then you might think? Well actually plenty of hope. When a person is broke, they only lack money; not the ability to start their own home business. It won’t be easy of course, but if you have the absolute desire to succeed you can do it. So where to start? Online! Now, if you’re so broke you don’t have your own internet connection then start with a Library Card and then you can access a computer and the internet and off you go.
First go and open Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts; use your own name because for your purposes self-branding is the way to go. Make these accounts Public so that people can find you. Now start to tell the world what you are about to do, and as you learn along the way, you share your journey and what you’ve learnt with your inevitable followers. Why?? Because we like to buy from people we know – like – trust and they’ll get to know you and learn from you.
Now you’ll need something to promote so head on over to somewhere like ClickBank.com and sign up for an account. Next go into their Marketplace and look for some products to sell online to your niche – in this scenario Network Marketers who are promoting their MLM business online.
The great thing about sites like ClickBank is that the products you sell are all downloaded by the customer, plus you’re given your own optimized sales page to use so it costs you nothing at all to set up, and you get paid a commission on everything you sell.
There are lots of places to advertise your products for free. Try Squidoo.com and Hubpages.com. There’s ListJoe.com and other Free Ad and Free Classified sites and don’t forget the numerous Forums. Word of caution though, don’t spread yourself too thinly; remember you want people to get to know you, choose where to spend your time wisely.
There are lots of free tools to use too. Skype is fantastic and few online marketers are without it. There’s GetResponse where you can start to build your email list for free. Just get “googling” and you’ll be amazed at what you find.
Search on Facebook for successful Online Network Marketers and follow them, watch what they do and learn from them. Use Skype to connect with them and become a serious student.
Up to this point everything I’ve mentioned has been free. Once you have a little money coming in you’ll want to continue to brand yourself. I can recommend GoDaddy for your Domain Name and Host Gator for your hosting needs; both A+ rated with the ‘better business’ guys. Why…because now you need your own promotional Blog and it’s best to use your own hosting rather than use free hosting.
Upload a WordPress Blog for free, now you can make your blog the hub for all your social media and marketing efforts and your business will begin to grow more quickly. Look for people who are already doing this successfully and copy what they do but make sure to put your own personal stamp on it.
When will you be earning a steady income? Probably a few months, but if you are a good student and commit to being consistent and not giving in at the first or second hurdle as most people do; then you’ll be successful for sure; it’s inevitable, because only quitters fail in Network Marketing over the longer term.
